The Quaint Turkish Village of Adatepe || Turkey Destination Highlight
I remember when I first wandered this quaint village. It was autumn and we had scarves on and the fallen leaves from the trees crunched as we walked down the rugged paths that led through the village homes.
“This place would be ADORABLE to visit, or stay, in the summer!!” I thought.
Its rustic charm, near the Aegean Sea and at the foot of Zeus’ Altar, Adatepe indeed has a magical feel about her.
Then this last year on our Travel Experience to Turkey’s Old Villages, we visited her again, but it was the beginning of summer. Still with its characteristic charm, but the flowers that colored its streets just burst with happiness!
There are two things I absolutely love about Adatepe – one is a lovely house called Ida Blue, which is a bed and breakfast, the other is the main entrance to the village where the shops and tea restaurant is.
Ida Blue
Set in the village of Adatepe, I first laid on eyes on her, as her shutters and door had this amazing BLUE greeting us as we saw her.
How gorgeous is she, hey?
You can read all about her and the accommodations you can choose from. The owner is a lovely lady as well.
They are on Facebook and have a very lovely website where you can make reservations online. It is a little bit of heaven on Mount Ida. 🙂
Village Center
As soon as you approach Adatepe, you come to the open cafes and shops, with a large tree in the center for lovely shade in the hot summer sun.
It is here where, after a lovely leisurely walk through this village, you can sip a Cay or tea.
Adatepe is definitely a village I can never tire of when I visit Turkey and take our guests on the OLD VILLAGESTravel Experience.
We have several dates planned for 2016 – plan to come along and experience Turkey and all it’s many beautiful places, like Adatepe. More info on dates can be found HERE.
I will leave you with a few more shots from some of our past Travel Experiences of beloved Adatepe
