Our Plomari & Gera Bay Day Trip begins on the other side of the Pine Forest near Gera Bay. Today you will learn about the ancient history and industries on this part of the island that have made it world famous!
We will head to Papados through the lowlands of Larsos area just before Gera Bay. In Papados we will tour the restored Olive Oil Press & Museum and learn how they used to make olive oil decades ago. We will stop in a village, as we approach Plomari, at an active olive press where we will have an olive oil tasting.
We continue towards the sea and find ourselves in Plomari after passing through several quaint villages along the way. Here in Plomari we will visit the world famous OUZO museum and have an ouzo tasting as well!
Lunch will be near the beach of *Melinta (in summer) or near the seaside in Plomari village (low season) where you will take in the beautiful Aegean Sea and fresh seafood!
After you have successfully relaxed we will head on a boat over to *Krifti, a little cove where you can see the Church of Pangia Krifti and swim in the crystal clear blue waters – there is even hot spring pools!
After you have taken in all the sea, we will make our way to Perama – but not before a stop to admire the beautiful Agios Isidoros beach – one of the islands best! Why not take in the sun for a bit and swim?
In Perama on Gera Bay we will enjoy a coffee by the sea and reflect on the most excellent day we have had on our favourite Greek island!
