The Valley of Kathmandu holds 7 UNESCO World Heritage sites. It is a bowl-shaped valley located in the Himalayan mountains where it lies at the crossroads of ancient civilizations of the Indian subcontinent and the broader Asian continent. The valley has at least 130 important monuments, including several pilgrimage sites for Hindus and Buddhists. You don’t have to be a religious person to admire the beauty all throughout the valley.
The Chitwan National Park, also a world heritage site, holds a total of 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpetofauna and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the park. The park is especially renowned for its protection of One Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger and Gharial Crocodile. Of course a safari through it is on our itinerary!
Exploring the birthplace of Buddha – the town of Lumbini – as well as the village he lived in before his enlightenment, relaxing in the lakeside town of Pohkara, and taking in the mountains of a village in Ghandrak are just some of the remarkable moments you will have on this trip.
