Quintessential Morocco | Real Travel Experiences
If there are 10 photos that would be so much “ typical Morocco it would be these to me:
The donkeys in the Medina of Fes. Still used for working, these donkeys are used often in the medinas and in the countryside.
The zig zag road of Dades Valley. Iconic road from a Cadillac commercial and it really is a zig zag!
The souks. The shopping markets for everything. From clothing to appliances to food to you name it!
The Roman Ruins of Volubilis in Meknes. Dated back to the 3rd century, it’s definitely a must see if you are in northern Morocco.
Hassan II mosque in Casablanca is the 2nd largest functioning mosque in Africa and 7th in the world.
It also has the worlds second tallest minaret at 210m.
The Blue City of Chefchaouen. It’s a dreamy little city in the Rif Mountains in the north. There are waterfalls in driving distance and an old Spanish mosque on the mountainside that overlooks thr city and valley.
The 1000 year old traditional tanneries of Fes. Absolutely incredible to see them still make leather with that same methods they did a thousand years ago.
A camel trek into the dunes of Merzouga. Couple with a night in a luxury camp, it’s magical.
The coastal town of Essaouira. It’s chill vibe and beautiful beach and medina situated on the Atlantic oven make it the perfect place to relax.
Ait Ben Haddou is a ksar located outside of Ouarzazate and home of dozens of Hollywood movies. Ouarzazate has been dubbed the Hollywood of North Africa.
How many of these have YOU been to?
