A look back at 2016 – Part 6 | Travel Experiences
New Country #6: Greece
It is the shortest amount of time I have actually been in and experienced a country – 24 hours. It was supposed to be longer, but due to the fact that websites were not updated or something, and there were only a select amount of ferries going over to Lesvos, Greece from Turkey during winter months…I was there for just over 24 hours.
And boy did I see a LOT in those 24 hours. And had THE best Airbnb hosts-turned-heart friends…such an amazing time indeed!
Reason being, is this is the next destination we feel we are gonna be moving after our youngest graduates here in Manila in 2+ years. So I went and did some initial scouting for properties, the feel of Mitilini and the opportunities for us to put up a Livelihood NGO geared towards refugees on the island.
Didn’t think I was even going to make it over as the ferry going across almost got canceled due to bad weather. BUT we made it, and it was rough..I was ready to see what this little island had in store for me in the next day.
And so was the loveliness of new countries discovered in 2016! I can’t wait to go back to them!
