The cobblestone streets of Stroncone | Italy Destination Highlight
It’s a quiet walled commune in Umbria. I would never have know about it had not my Italian brother and FYH Italy team Max and his family live just outside the walls, overlooking hills of olive trees.
When I say small, I mean population just over 4800. The younger generations commute into Terni (only 8km away) to work, while the older generation can be seen walking the cobblestone streets, or gathering to chat or simply playing cards together.
That’s what I love about the towns in Umbria & Tuscany – it feels as though you are back in time as you walk down the streets, winding and turning to more quaint little homes that have been there for hundreds of years.
