The Sleepy Coastal Moroccan Town – Essaouira || Morocco Destination Highlight
Essaouira. I knew I would love her for the simple reason that she is a coastal town on the west coast of Morocco.
What I didn’t expect was to be absolutely smitten with her and her old medina charm, that even though there are travelers coming through her streets, she retains her centuries old character and spirit.
Our local guide in Essaouira was a sweet man who not only gave us such aesome history of Essaouira, but led us through the port, the old medina and the fortress wall overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It was an amazing city tour.
And then we had a free afternoon…and I went and wandered…and wandered…and wandered.. 🙂
Oh, Essaouira – you have a piece of my heart.
