Chefchaouen’s Souk || Morocco Destination Highlight
One of the things I notice when I travel is that the best way to REALLY get the feel of a place is to visit their local market. It is here that you will see the locals, see the produce they are selling and see how real life is among the place you are in.
It was no different when we visited the local market in Chefchaouen…
The fresh produce was overwhelming! Indeed I bought some fruit to take for the road – how can you not?!
It was also fun to watch them haggle with each other, like this lady below with the gentlemen of this table 🙂
I can only imagine how lovely it is to get these fresh vegetables and fruits and make some yummy dishes – Moroccans use lots of vegetables in their cuisine!
These olives..it was everything in me to not buy the entire bucket – OH MY WORD, I LOVE OLIVES!!
Mostly the village residents here didn’t like getting their photos taken, so taking photos of the entire scene was more of what I did, when I wanted to get some people shots here.. Something about the photo below, you can almost HEAR the conversation going on…hehehehehe..
Next time you are somewhere new, find out where the local market is…wander through, genuinely look interested in what’s going on there, make a friend with one of the vendors, buy some of the stuff and have an awesome time experiencing a little bit of their local life. 🙂
